Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Seerty ("we", "us", "our"), the online resume builder available at seerty.com (the "Service") operated by an individual developer, collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Service. It is written in line with the Jordanian Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023 ("PDPL") and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information: your email address, password (stored only as a secure hash — we never store or see your plaintext password), and optionally your full name.
  • Resume content: the resumes and other content you create, upload, or import (including LinkedIn and PDF imports).
  • Referral information: referral codes you enter or share, and the referral relationship between accounts.
  • Contact messages: your name, email address, and message when you use the contact form.

Information collected automatically:

  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, and basic request logs, used for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
  • Cookies and local storage: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a local preference for your theme (light/dark). With your consent we also load Google Analytics and LinkedIn's advertising tag, described in section 5 below.

Information from third parties:

  • Google sign-in: if you register with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture from Google, subject to Google's own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data to:

  • provide and operate the Service (creating your account, saving your resumes, generating exports);
  • verify your email address and secure your account;
  • prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access (including rate limiting and spam prevention);
  • operate the referral program (linking referrals and applying discounts);
  • respond to your messages and support requests;
  • send you service-related communications (for example, verification emails);
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your resume content for advertising or to train third-party models.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Under the PDPL, we process your personal data only where the processing is lawful, specific, and clear in purpose, and on the following bases:

  • Consent: where you have agreed to specific processing (for example, creating an account and accepting these terms);
  • Contract: processing necessary to provide the Service you have requested;
  • Legal obligation: where we must process data to comply with the law.

We process your data only for the purpose for which it was collected, keep it accurate and up to date, and do not use it in a way that harms you or your rights. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

  • Session cookie: keeps you signed in to your account. It is essential for the Service to work.
  • Theme preference: stored in your browser's local storage so your light/dark preference persists.
  • Google Analytics: the Google tag ships denied-by-default (no analytics cookies), and measurement starts only after you accept optional cookies. You can turn it off again at any time below.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag: optional advertising cookies set by LinkedIn to measure ad conversions and show you relevant ads. The tag is not loaded until you accept optional cookies, and you can turn it off again at any time below.

Those are the only cookies we use. The session cookie and your theme preference always apply; Google Analytics and the LinkedIn Insight Tag load only if you accept optional cookies.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We share your personal data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: companies that help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, our email delivery provider (Resend), and payment processors (Paddle) when you make a purchase. These providers process data only on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: where required by law, court order, or a competent authority in Jordan or another applicable jurisdiction.
  • Protection of rights: where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of our users or the public.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

7. International Transfers

Your personal data may be processed on servers located outside Jordan (for example, in the United States or the European Union). Under the PDPL, we transfer personal data outside Jordan only where the destination provides a level of protection at least equivalent to the law, and we obtain your consent where required. We keep records of any such transfers.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account data: for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account data and resumes within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep certain records by law.
  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to handle your inquiry.
  • Logs and security data: for a limited period, typically no longer than 30 days, unless needed for an ongoing investigation.

9. Your Rights

Subject to the PDPL and applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Delete your data (including deleting your account);
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page at seerty.com/contact. We will respond within the timeframes required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in Jordan (the Personal Data Protection Authority) or, for EU users, your local data protection authority.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • hashing passwords with a strong, one-way algorithm;
  • serving the Service over HTTPS;
  • rate limiting and abuse monitoring;
  • restricting access to personal data to what is necessary.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a serious data breach that could cause significant harm to you, we will notify you within 24 hours of discovery and notify the competent authority within 72 hours, as required by the PDPL.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by email or a notice on the Service). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact us through the contact page at seerty.com/contact.
